Over the course of two successive days, drones have targeted the base of Russia’s 112th Missile Brigade in Shuya, an entity implicated in the bombardment of Sumy. According to sources cited by RBC-Ukraine, this assault forms part of a specialized assignment executed by Ukrainian intelligence services.
The informant stated that Ukrainian intelligence employed attack drones called Liutyi to assault the locations held by Russian forces. As per the informant, the mission proved successful with all designated targets being struck.
The strike occurred as retaliation for the shelling of Sumy on Palm Sunday, when Russian forces once more bombarded the city. This assault resulted in more than 30 fatalities and approximately 100 injuries.
Drone attacks on Shuya
For two consecutive days, drones have targeted the 112th Missile Brigade in Shuya, located in the Ivanovo region of Russia. This unit was involved in the attack on Sumy that occurred on April 13.
Shuya is situated 700 kilometers away from the Ukrainian border. Nevertheless, according to experts, the probable distance traveled by the Ukrainian drones would be significantly greater.
This occurs due to the requirement of circumventing the robust anti-aircraft defenses around the Moscow region and attacking objectives within what’s known as the Central Industrial Region of Russia, which is highly safeguarded against aerial assaults. Nonetheless, Ukrainian drones continue to hit these targets.
