The Russian assault group included at least 320 soldiers, 40 armored combat vehicles, three tanks, and about 10 buggies, drawn from several regiments of Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.
The assault was aimed at the front line close to Pyatykhatky, Stepove, Lobkove, Mala Tokmachka, and Mali Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhya Oblast.

Early detection of the adversary’s movement was achieved through Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance, which allowed for drone and artillery attacks to be initiated promptly.
The initial Russian vehicles encountered attacks eight kilometers away from the frontline. The engagement persisted for more than two and a half hours, during which Ukrainian forces continuously fired upon the advancing troops.
The Southern Defense Forces reported destroying 29 Russian combat vehicles and eliminating 140 enemy soldiers, while damaging three tanks. Ukrainian troops held all positions without losses, the report said.
