Russia-Ukraine War: Latest frontline developments on May 10

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that by 4:00 PM on May 10 Kyiv time, there have been 84 combat engagements on the frontlines since the start of the day. Ukrainian forces are holding their ground, stopping the enemy, and disrupting Russia’s plans.


Enemy shelling

Today, Russian artillery shelling affected areas in Ukrainian settlements, including Chuykivka, Mariyne, Brusky, Ulanove, Yastrubshchyna, and Bila Bereza in the Sumy region.


Frontline situation


In the Kharkiv direction

, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy assault near Vovchansk. Another attack is currently ongoing near the settlement of Kamianka.


In the Kupiansk direction

, the enemy has not launched any active operations since the start of the day.


In the Lyman direction

, three combat engagements started today, with one still ongoing. The enemy launched an attack on the settlements of Ridkodub and Zelena Dolyna.


In the Siversk direction

, Russian forces launched an attack, which Ukrainian forces successfully repelled. The Russians tried to advance toward Hryhorivka.


In the Kramatorsk direction

, Ukrainian forces repelled four enemy attacks. The enemy launched offensives near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, and toward Bila Hora and Predtechyne. Two combat engagements are still underway.


In the Toretsk direction

, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled all enemy attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance four times near the settlements of Druzhba and Toretsk, as well as toward Diliivka.


In the Pokrovsk direction

, Russian forces initiated 31 clashes of varying intensity toward the settlements of Myroliubivka, Kotliarivka, Myrne, Zoria, and near the settlements of Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Preobrazhenka, and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 27 of these enemy attacks.


In the Novopavlivka direction

, Ukrainian forces repelled eight enemy attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, Pryvilne, as well as in the direction of Bahatyria, Shevchenka, and Novopil. Five enemy attacks are still ongoing.


In the Huliaipole direction

, settlements of Malynivka and Zaliznychne were struck by unguided missiles.


In the Orikhiv direction

, today the enemy launched two attacks in the settlement of Stepove and toward Novodanilivka, but they were unsuccessful.


In the Prydniprovskyi direction

, the adversary launched an unsuccessful assault against the positions held by the Ukrainian defenders.


In Russia’s Kursk region

Ukrainian troops effectively thwarted 12 Russian assaults, with an additional four skirmishes currently underway. The opposing force conducted three air strikes, releasing four precision-guided munitions, along with firing 156 artillery rounds, of which three were delivered via multiple rocket launcher systems.

In other areas, there were no notable alterations to the circumstances.

“The Ukrainian forces are exhausting the adversary across the complete frontline and even behind their lines,” stressed the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


The enemy’s losses

As a reminder, on the night from May 9 to 10, Russian forces lost 1,300 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 49 artillery systems, 36 drones, and 106 units of enemy military equipment.
