NEW DELHI: Ex-Indian cricket player Shikhar Dhawan delivered a scathing reaction to Pakistan’s breach of the ceasefire shortly after a joint agreement for peace had been reached.
On Sunday evening, May 10, around 8 PM, Pakistan allegedly conducted several drone strikes aimed at crucial Indian areas including Srinagar and Kutch, just about three hours after the ceasefire had begun.
The ceasefire, declared together by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and U.S. President Donald Trump, aimed to halt the rising hostilities. Nonetheless, Pakistan’s recent act of aggression has faced criticism from Indian officials as well as prominent individuals from the public sphere.

Taking to social media platform X, Shikhar Dhawan expressed his outrage in no uncertain terms.
“Ghatiya desh ne fir apna ghatiyapan poori duniya ke aage dikha diya (The filthy nation has once again shown its filthiness to the whole world),” he posted, calling out Pakistan for once again showing its “true colours.”
His view mirrored the increasing dissatisfaction amongst Indians who perceive Pakistan’s continual violations as both intentional and duplicitous.
Dhawan was not the only one speaking out. Virender Sehwag, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Rahul Tewatia also condemned Pakistan for their deceitfulness. Sehwag went further by sharing a sharp Hindi saying that compared Pakistan’s behavior to an unchangeable situation.
The repercussions of this breach have also reached the realm of sports. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has apparently suspended plans to continue with IPL 2025, which was set to conclude on May 25, following a security concern raised during the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.
In the meantime, India’s military forces stay at elevated readiness levels, successfully countering numerous drone threats swiftly.
