Vance: U.S. Would Stay Out of a Potential War Between India and Pakistan

Vice President Vance admitted on Thursday that an all-out conflict between India and Pakistan would be “catastrophic.” However, he stated that the U.S. should not intervene in such a situation.

“We are hopeful and expectant that this will not escalate into a wider regional war or, heaven forbid, turn into a nuclear confrontation,” Vance stated to MacCallum. “Of course, we have concerns regarding such matters; however, the role of diplomacy—and indeed the responsibility of level-headed individuals in both India and Pakistan—is to prevent this from escalating into a nuclear conflict.”
