Russia launches drones from five directions overnight: How air defenses responded

On the evening of April 16, the Russian forces initiated yet another drone assault, aiming at Ukraine from multiple angles, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

As stated in the report, Russian troops dispatched a combined total of 97 attack drones, including Shahed-type UAVs and decoys, originating from these locations:

By 09:30 a.m., Ukrainian forces had reportedly brought down 57 drones throughout various regions including the east, north, center, and south of the country. Furthermore, 34 dummy drones were also neutralized but did not result in any damage.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Ever since the beginning of the full-scale conflict, Russia has employed drones, an array of missile types, artillery, and precision-guided air bombs to attack Ukraine. The areas closest to combat zones and inhabited localities have been hit the hardest.

Over the last year, the adversary has conducted nightly drone assaults every day. As an illustration, on April 15, Russia fired a ballistic missile along with 52 Shahed-style attack drones during the overnight hours.
