Russians Strike Donetsk Oblast: 3 Injured

On April 16th, Russian forces assaulted the village of Zarichne within the Lyman hromada as well as the town of Lyman in Donetsk Oblast. This attack resulted in injuries to two women and one man. A hromada refers to an administrative division encompassing a single village, multiple villages, or a town along with surrounding areas.

The branch of Ukraine’s national public broadcasting company Suspilske reported, quoting Anastasia Medvedeva, who serves as the spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office in Donetsk Oblast.

At around 10:30, Russian forces launched an assault on the village of Zarichne within the Lyman district. This attack resulted in a 71-year-old resident sustaining injuries from explosions, trauma to the brain, and shrapnel wounds.

At 13:15, Russian troops initiated another assault on the village, resulting in injuries to a 61-year-old man who sustained blast trauma, fragments from shrapnel, bruises, and a concussion. He was subsequently transported to the hospital. Authorities are currently investigating the specific kind of weaponry employed.

At 2:40 PM, Russian forces attacked the town of Lyman using a UAV, probably a Molniya-2.

A 70-year-old female sustained injuries when a residence was struck.

Law enforcement authorities have initiated an inquiry based on Article 438.1 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code concerning potential war crimes.
