President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has implemented a resolution from Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), approved on April 18th, which imposes specific economic and additional sanctions targeting 20 Russian entertainers, actors, and athletes due to their endorsement of Russia’s military actions against Ukraine.

Details:
The order becomes effective on the date it is published.
The sanctions include the removal of state honors, freezing of assets, limitation of commercial activities, ban on media dissemination in Ukraine, among others.
The sanction list includes 20 people. Specifically mentioned are: actress Irina Apeksimova; actors Vitaly Gogunsky and Yevgeny Mironov; actor and singer Nikita Dzhigurda; singer Yaroslav “Shaman” Dronov; filmmaker Egor Konchalovsky; animal trainer Yuri Kuklachov; actor Oskar Kuchera; actor Alexander Pankratov-Chyorny; ballet dancer Sergei Polunin; artists Nikolay Rastorguyev, Alexander Rosenbaum, and Igor Sukachov; ballet dancer Nikolay Tsiskaridze; and rapper Roman “Zhigan” Chumakov.
Sanctions have likewise been applied to certain Russian athletes, notably ski racer Yelena Välbe.
