US Eyes Exit from Ukraine Talks as Trump Sets Conditions

The United States might stop participating in talks aimed at ending Russia’s conflict with Ukraine if either side hinders the process toward peace, according to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The U.S. president was questioned about remarks made by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who stated that America would withdraw from the negotiations concerning Ukraine unless indications emerge within days that an accord can be reached between Kiev and Moscow over the following few weeks.

“There isn’t a set number of days for this, but we aim to complete it promptly,” he stated.

As per his statement, approximately 2,500 individuals are losing their lives each week due to the intense fighting. Consequently, the U.S. aims to ideally put an end to this situation.

If, for whatever reason, one party becomes extremely challenging, instead of labeling them as foolish or terrible individuals, we’ll simply opt out. However, let’s hope this isn’t necessary. As Marco correctly pointed out, our aim is to ensure it concludes positively.

,” Trump stated.

He further mentioned that numerous individuals are losing their lives daily as they engage in games. The U.S. will not tolerate this situation anymore.

Meanwhile, Trump stated there is a substantial possibility of resolving the matter, and he was not inclined to discuss the prospect of the U.S. withdrawing from the peace talks.

What Rubio’s statement means

Political analyst Oleh Saakian remarked in an interview for RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, through his ultimatum to both Ukraine and Russia, is escalating tensions toward Moscow.

According to him, the U.S. desires a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia at this time because such an accord would be established from a place of power.
