While peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine persist in the Middle East, Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that the United States desires swift advancements.
Rubio stated on Friday, “We must determine within a few days if this can be achieved in the near future. If it cannot, we will likely proceed differently according to our viewpoint.” He added that the president holds strong feelings regarding this matter.

The harsh demeanor in Rubio’s comments was disappointing for many.

Should Ukraine collapse, it would become an even larger international problem. We must under no circumstances desert Ukraine. The situation doesn’t reflect poorly on Ukraine.”
The discussions are anticipated to span multiple days. Representatives from Russia and Ukraine have stated that some headway is being achieved. They have reached an agreement on a limited truce, though no further developments have been reported.
Drueke expressed his hope that the U.S. will continue to support the peace negotiations and uphold its pledge to the Ukrainian people.
