How to Parry Attacks
RuneScape Dragonwilds
will gradually throw stronger enemies at the players as they travel from one region to another on the map. Although most of the enemies you’ll encounter can be easily defeated with an attack combo. Some will be tougher to fight and will require players to block and parry their attacks to get a win. Parry is an ability that players can unlock quite early on in RuneScape Dragonwilds, but it is one of the most crucial combat abilities to master.
How to Unlock the Parry Ability in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Players can unlock the Parry ability
after reaching level 5 of the Attack skill tree
in
RuneScape Dragonwilds
. To level up the Attack skill tree, players will need to engage in combat encounters more often. These encounters can be against various creatures in the forests, like rats or goblins roaming around the area.
Before engaging in a fight, it’s best that you use a
weapon like a club or a stone knife
. Weapons will help you dispatch enemies more quickly, so you can defeat the enemy before taking damage. Once you gain enough Attack XP, you’ll get a prompt in the top-right corner of the screen notifying you that the Parry ability has been unlocked.
However, before you can start parrying enemy attacks, you’ll need to do something first.
How to Parry Attacks
To parry attacks in
RuneScape Dragonwilds
, players will have to
craft a shield first
. The shield is a requirement for the Parry skill to work, and is also a must-have if you’re early on in the game to block incoming melee and ranged damage.
To create a shield, you will require
create a crafting table using the construction options menu
Once completed, go to the crafting table interface, and you will see the Wooden Shield listed under the weapons section. You’ll require
10 Ash Logs are needed to create a wooden shield
Therefore, cut down any nearby trees to obtain the necessary materials. After crafting the shield, equip it and use either “Right-Click” with a mouse or “LT” on a controller to block or parry.
To effectively execute a parry, meticulously study your opponent’s attacking sequence. As soon as they initiate their strike towards you, swiftly press the guard button to intercept the assault. Doing so will disrupt their balance and provide you with an opportunity to inflict extra harm upon them.
