Russia and Ukraine have swapped the remains of 950 deceased servicemen, as reported by authorities from both nations on Friday. This marks the second such exchange within a short span of four weeks.

The remains of 909 service members, as per the government’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, have been identified.

Ukrainian troops allegedly lost their lives on the battlefronts in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv areas, along with the northeastern Sumy region, which Ukraine says is being primed for another assault by Russian forces.

The exchange of captured soldiers and remains of deceased service members continues to be one of the limited spheres where collaboration persists between the two conflicting nations since Russia initiated its comprehensive assault on Ukraine over three years prior.

The swap on Friday came after an exchange on March 28, which involved trading 909 Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies for those of 43 Russian soldiers. This marks the eighth such exchange since October, where at least 500 Ukrainian service members have been returned.
