Russian Drone Strike Hits Odessa: Homes and Civilian Infrastructure Damaged, Ukraine Reports

(WARINFO) – Ukraine’s authorities reported early Wednesday that Russia conducted an overnight drone assault on Odesa, a Black Sea port city. The attack resulted in damage to residential structures, storage facilities, and civil infrastructure.

“The adversary has once more launched a significant drone assault on Odesa,” stated Oleh Kiper, the governor overseeing the larger Odesa area where the city of Odesa serves as the administrative hub, in aTelegram message.

Based on initial reports, no one was injured, according to Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov’s statement on Telegram.

He shared images of residential structures and other edifices that were largely demolished along with a photo of a dog hiding behind a stack of timber.

The extent of the assault wasn’t fully known. Typically, Ukraine’s air force provides information about nighttime Russian strikes sometime during the afternoon.

WARINFO could not confirm these claims independently. Russia has not provided an immediate response. Each side denies aiming at civilian targets since the beginning of the conflict when Russia launched a widespread attack on Ukraine over three years prior.

In late March, the United States announced that it had separately agreed with both Ukraine and Russia to halt hostilities around the Black Sea region as well as cease targeting each other’s energy infrastructure. However, accusations from both parties claiming violations of these truces have been frequent.
