Russian ballistic missile strike on Kharkiv
Early in the morning on April 18, at approximately 5 a.m., as Kyiv slept, Russian forces initiated a missile assault on Kharkiv, focusing their attack on the Osnovianskyi district.
Russian forces launched three Iskander ballistic missiles at civilian zones. Similar to their recent assaults on Kryvyi Rih and Sumy, one missile detonated in the air, which is a strategy employed by the Russian invaders to expand the impact zone and amplify damage and casualties.
At first, it was stated that at least 60 individuals sustained injuries due to the Russian attacks. Included among those affected are four young females aged 3, 4, 14, and 16 along with an 17-year-old male. Tragically, one individual lost their life—a 79-year-old man. Subsequently, the count of casualties in Kharkiv escalated to 74, later climbed further to 82, and finally reached up to 87.
