Ukraine’s National Guard Fend Off Intense 7-Hour Russian Assault

The National Guard disclosed multiple aspects of the engagement. They highlighted that this stood as one of the most significant attacks carried out by Russian forces using motorcycle units.

The Russian assault on the Pokrovsk front continued for slightly more than seven hours on Thursday.

It has been observed that the Russians experienced losses averaging around 40 infantry soldiers, approximately 13 motorcycles, and 3 armored fighting vehicles every hour.


Background

Brigadier General Oleksandr Pivnenko, who leads the National Guard, stated that on April 17th, members of the 14th National Guard Brigade Chervona Kalyna fought off a significant armored attack from Russian forces at the Pokrovsk front. This engagement resulted in substantial losses for Russia.
