On Tuesday, the IDF and Shin Bet report that the head of Hamas’s smuggling operations was killed during an airstrike in Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza.
In recent times, Yahya Fathi Abd al-Qader Abu Shaar has been involved in smuggling weapons and various types of military gear. These items were utilized by Hamas, including during the terrorist organization’s attack on October 7, 2023, according to the IDF.

The military reports that another attack in Khan Younis the previous week resulted in the death of a key figure from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Mazen Ibraheem Mahfouz Farah had directed “significant” terror attacks in Israel over the past two years, and especially in recent months, according to the IDF.
In both incidents, the IDF claims they implemented various measures to minimize civilian casualties, such as using “precisely guided weapons,” conducting aerial reconnaissance, and gathering further intelligence.
Moreover, the IDF reports that approximately 110 targets have been hit by the Israeli Air Force in Gaza within the last two days.
According to the military, the objectives encompassed cells belonging to terrorists affiliated with Hamas as well as facilities utilized by various terrorist organizations.
Yesterday evening, an Israeli strike hit a structure affiliated with Hamas’s naval forces in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza, according to the IDF, which claims this location was utilized for planning assaults against Israel.
