MOSCOW (WARNEWS) — The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff were highly fruitful according to Putin’s representative for investments. However, several nations are attempting to hinder communication between Russia and the United States.
On Friday, Putin met with Witkoff in St. Petersburg, the historical imperial capital, where they conversed for nearly five hours. Joining them were Putin’s foreign policy advisor, Yuri Ushakov, and investment ambassador Kirill Dmitriev.
“The meeting was incredibly fruitful,” Kirill Dmitriev stated to journalists at the Kremlin when Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani visited Moscow.
“Dmitriev stated that numerous individuals, organizations, and nations are attempting to interfere with our communication with the United States.” He further noted that different unnamed news outlets were circulating false information.
The ongoing conversation is highly beneficial. However, it’s taking place under extremely challenging circumstances—incessant assaults and relentless disinformation.
Following his discussion with Putin, Witkoff informed Fox News that it was evident what Putin desired for a lasting peace in Ukraine.
“I believe we may be on the brink of something incredibly significant for the global community,” Witkoff stated to Fox, also mentioning that there are several “highly promising commercial prospects” within the Russia-U.S. relationship.
