WASHINGTON (NEXDAY) – The Trump administration warned both Russia and Ukraine on Friday that they had only a few days left to agree upon a truce; otherwise, it indicated it might withdraw support for brokering an agreement between them.
“We need to assess and ascertain if this is feasible at all or not, which is why we’re involving both parties,” stated U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Rubio met with Ukrainian and European officials in Paris on Thursday regarding a peace agreement and also had a conversation over the phone with his Russian counterpart.
“If for some reason one of the two sides becomes extremely obstructive, we will simply state, ‘You are being unreasonable. You are foolish individuals. You are terrible people.’ Then, we’ll choose not to proceed,” stated President Donald Trump.
This method has garnered backing from Republicans like U.S. Representative Riley Moore (R-W.Va.).

The conflict seems to be intensifying further still, despite President Trump’s pledge to bring it to an end immediately upon returning to the Oval Office during his initial day in office.
Russian forces have just violated the ceasefire agreement concerning Ukraine’s energy facilities, which was brokered by the U.S., and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is now charging China with providing arms to Russia.
“I have no comment on that,” President Trump said. “I have no idea. That’s his statement, not mine.”
Nevertheless, President Trump stated that he anticipates the mineral agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine will be finalized next week.
“We have a minerals deal, which I guess is going to be signed on Thursday,” the president said.
President Trump has advocated for the minerals agreement as compensation for the military assistance given during the Biden administration.
