U.S. Forces Eliminate Notorious Bandit Leader Ibrahim Kaboni and Allies in Zamfara

The troops from Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully eliminated a prominent bandit leader named Ibrahim Kaboni, as well as eight of his men, during a meticulously planned ambush close to Keta village within the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Based on information from intelligence sources accessible to Zagazola Makama, the ambush took place on the night of April 16, 2025, involving soldiers from the 1st Brigade along with various other security organizations after thorough monitoring of the group’s activities.

The confrontation resulted in an intense shootout where Kaboni and his associates were killed while trying to run away. Some of them escaped but sustained bullet injuries.

Kaboni had been on the security watch list for an extended period due to his participation in multiple attacks, abductions, and thefts of livestock throughout Tsafe and nearby regions.
